How to tie a tie is becoming one of the most common questions these days. Here are top ten ways to tie a tie for appropriate occasions. You will find these ten ways to tie a knot the best of all that you have ever known. The size of your tie knot depends on the occasion and dress that you are wearing. A tie knot for school uniform will be smaller in size and easier and simpler to tie as compared to a classic men’s fashion tie knot.
You can learn and use these methods to look different and stylish on every day of the week or different events.
Fishbone Tie Knot
This necktie knot is one of the most artistic formal knots that need to look like a fishbone once done.
As you can see it is not very difficult to make but it is a lot more creative and the finished knot would tell how well you have done it. The little end can go long and the big end should finish just past your belly button when you start the process. Dimple the big end, take the little end over the big end and keep crossing it up and down as shown above to get the final shape.
Rose Bud Tie Knot
The rose bud knot was invented by Jack Robertson. This is another knot that is going to be tied with the little end.
Let the little end go long and big end to finish exactly at your belly button. Put a dimple in the big end and bring it to the middle. Cross over the little end under the front of your necktie. Once you are done crossing the front of the big end thrice, keep your finger in and tie a normal Windsor knot. Now fold the little end of the necktie and feed it up through the neck hole and back down. Give the two right side folds to the necktie and tuck the little end under the collar.
Trinity Tie Knot
You never go wrong with the trinity knot because it is good for all events.
This is another knot that we tie with the little end so keep the big end at your belly button and let the little and go long. This way the finished tie would be right above the belt line where it should be. Take the big end and pinch it to make a dimple that is going to come out. Take the little end as usual and cross it over the front and keep it fairly tight. Keep feeding up through the front and down through the back as shown above. Wrap the little end around and then tuck it under the collar.
Harlequin Tie Knot
We all love diamond. A neat and cool diamond-like tie knot is Harlequin tie knot.
If you have got the right kind of collar, this knot is going to look fantastic. Instead of doing a pinch in this one we will do a fold like an inverted pinch. So we fold it and pull out as an inverted pinch. Taking the little end we are going to cross it over and underneath the necktie. Then pull the point up that is going to be the top of the diamond shape. Now folding in three times on the front and loop in by bringing around the back. Then make another fold above the front fold and give in two loops with your finger in it. Then finish the knot by tucking the little end under the collar.
TrueLove Tie Knot
When tied correctly, this knot looks amazing on any romantic date or a casual meeting with your partner. This knot is not going to work for you if you are a school boy.
As you can see above that the knot requires the active end to remain constant while the little end does the trick. It becomes easier by using the Windsor knot as a base and then doing those tight front folds.
Nicky Tie Knot
This is one of the easiest knots to do. If you have a semi-spread collar then this knot will look pretty decent. It looks very elegant since it is not a bulky knot but still fills the collar well when you know how to do it.
This knot is tied with the big end so you need to let it go long while the little end finishes at your belly button. Start the loop by giving a crossover with the active end without a pinch or a fold. Just keep your finger in to get the active end out at the end of the loop.
Pratt Tie Knot
You want to go to a business meeting and getting late? If you know how to tie a Pratt Knot then you will not be late and you will look elegant as well.
Use the same technique that we used for Nicky knot, just increase the loops to suit your need for the bulk. The loop forms the bulk and makes it look wider to fill the whole collar.
Eldredge Tie Knot
The small end is going to be the active end while tieing this knot. Eldredge knot is one of my favorite knots.
This knot is known as the official business knot. You just need to cover the front part with folds while crossing the loops. Keep the folds tight and tuck the little end under the collar when finished.
Elite Tie Knot
If you are looking for a knot which is fancy and sophisticated at the same time. Then Elite knot should be your choice. It is very similar to the Eldredge Knot.
